Chinese snooker refers to a situation where the cue ball lies directly in front of another object ball in the line of the shot as such that the shooting snooker player is essentially blocked by it, or hampered at best by it. The resolution to a Chinese snooker situation is to bridge over it awkwardly. The Chinese snooker term is most commonly used, of course, in the game of snooker.
