Definition of American Poolplayers Association

American Poolplayers Association is a billiards term that is a part of Organization Terminology.

The American Poolplayers Association is the world's largest association of billiard and pool players in terms of volume. The association includes billiard players from the Canadian Pool Players Association.

The apa created and established widespread use of the "equalizer" method of assigning handicaps to players of different skill level. They organize a large amount of competitive play in the billiard world, including the United States Amateur Championship.

It was founded by famed pros Terry Bell and Larry Hubbart way back in 1979 as the National Pool League, and it now has over 265,000 players involved in the US, Canada and even all the way in Japan!
