Backer - Billiard Term Definition

Backer Definition

In cue sports, someone who puts up the cash in a billiard related gambling situation in order to back a certain player. The backer is like an investor and should be prepared to lose the initial investment. If the player loses the match, the backer is out the money that was supplied. If the player is successful, they usually pay the backer in the amount of their initial investment plus a profit.

Backer Usage

I'd love to play in that money match, but I don't have the cash to put up. I need a backer.
