Backing - Billiard Term Definition

Backing Definition

If you have backing it means that you have an investor to finance a match that you play in for gambling purposes. The investor who is backing the player takes a cut of the winnings if that player is successful. Unfortunately for the investor, the player typically does not pay them back if a loss occurs.
