An object ball that is banked against a rail on a billiard table. A banked ball is a ball that is simply shot to a rail with the intent of banking it off the cushion.
Shoot the 5 ball in to the rail, and you'll also tap the 6 in the side pocket. Then you'll be set up for the 5 ball, the banked ball from your last shot.
