Bays is an incorrect, but commonly used spelling for the term baize. It refers to a type of cloth used commonly on snooker tables. The correct spelling of the product, however, is baize.
I know the correct spelling is Baize, but I sometime spell it bays in the tournament newsletter, because I know that's how most of the folks in my league think of it.
