The term blue ball has several meanings in a cue sport context. The blue ball in snooker is the ball that is blue in color that is worth 5 points. This ball's spot is normally the center of the table. It can also be referred to as the blues. In this context, the blue ball is an identical replacement for the group of reds. The equivalent replacement for the solid suit in North American-style billiard ball set.
I'm shooting at the blue ball, and when I pot it, I should have 5 more points.
