Welcome to the billiard, pool, and snooker glossary of terms. This is the definition of Center Pocket as it relates to cue sports. You can also view the entire billiard dictionary.
In the UK, the center pocket is either one of the two pockets on either side of a pool or snooker table located halfway up the long rails. They have a more shallow cut than the corner pockets because they have a 180 degree aperture, instead of a 90 degree aperture. Center pockets are also commonly called middle pockets. This term is not commonly used in the US where the term side pocket prevails.
