Welcome to the billiard, pool, and snooker glossary of terms. This is the definition of Century as it relates to cue sports. You can also view the entire billiard dictionary.
A term used in snooker to refer to a break of 100 points or greater. To accomplish this, the player must pot at least 25 balls consecutively. There are a few references out there which state 26 balls must be potted consecutively, but the true number is 25.
Century break is a scoring move that is not generally possible for the amateur player.
The term "century" is considered to be a slang term related to billiard technique. The century definition was entered on 1/12/2007 and was updated on 10/24/2007 9:48:59 AM.
