Billiard players or spectators gambling on billiards may enter a vicious cycle whereby he or she loses on a bet, and then feels the need to chase the money they have lost by placing another, sometimes larger and more reckless bet. The chase is normally necessary because the gambler actually needs the money back, as they have wagered monies that were allocated to other expenses.
Lori has to chase the money today, because she lost her rent money this morning on a big wager.
