Pockets that simply hold the balls as the shots are made. The opposite of that would be a table with a gully system. Drop pockets are usually cupped or netted pockets from which balls must be manually retrieved by players.
I hate these drop pockets, I knew I should have bought the pool table with the ball return system instead. With these drop pockets, I have to go an retrieve the balls from each individual pocket.
