A flagrant foul refers to a foul that must be assessed because the game's rules or regulations are flagrantly or blatantly violated. Because a flagrant foul is an intentional foul, the penalty is generally stiffer. An example of a penalty for a flagrant foul is the loss of game.
Jimmy has such poor sportsmanship. Because of that flagrant foul, he was assessed a penalty of the loss of game.
