In cue sports, the term game has a few different definitions. In the first context, the term game simply refers to a game with an identifiable set of rules, such as eight ball and nine ball. Billiards in and of itself is not a game within this context, but rather is a set or category of games. In the second context, the term game refers to one single match. 1 game begins at the the opening break shot and ends when one player has won according to the specific game's rules, or when the game is halted for some reason by the referee or official. A game is a unit, and multiple games make up a match, race, or round. Game is similar to frame. In the third context, the term game refers to the skill level of a good pool player. A good pool player is said to have game. Also, in a gambling context, if one is game, they are willing to play or gamble.
