A shot where an object ball Caroms or glances off another ball, or balls, which redirect its path toward a pocket. This technique is often played intentionally when a direct route to the pocket is blocked, or when the desired cue ball position is more naturally achieved by aiming for the "in off", rather than the direct shot.
