Look back refers to the unfortunate circumstance of entering the loser bracket in a double elimination billiard tournament or otherwise falling in the standings in other pool tournament formats. Essentially the term look back refers to the unfortunate fate of the loss of a match, game, round, or frame, with the fortunate fate of being able to remain in the competition.
Don't look back mate, you don't want to be there.
