Welcome to the billiard, pool, and snooker glossary of terms. This is the definition of Miss Rule as it relates to cue sports. You can also view the entire billiard dictionary.
The miss rule is a snooker rule that is invoked when a player commits a foul and leaves it safe, and then the opponent is left with the option to make the original player play the exact same shot again, or to take the table and continue the game. A miss is normally invoked when the shooting player has been put in by the opponent after a safety shot. The miss rule is a rather controversial rule that strives to account for deliberate fouls.
When is the snooker referee going to call the miss rule on this guy?
