Mushroom is an effect that occurs on the cue's leather tip whereby it becomes compressed and begins to overhang the ferrule of the pool cue. This compression is the result of repeated contact with the cue ball. The mushroom effect can be prolonged through proper cue maintenance, and high quality pool cue parts.
Look at Reggie's pool cue. What a piece of crap. The tip is mushroomed horribly.
