Definition of Professional Side Of The Pocket

Professional Side Of The Pocket is a billiards slang term that is a part of Billiard Technique Terminology.

To use the professional side of the pocket means to be extremely cautious by overcutting a tough cut shot rather than undercutting it in nine ball. The professional side of the pocket is called such because experienced billiard players know that on a thin cut shot, to overcut the ball will more often leave the ball in a bad position for the incoming opponent that will an undercut shot that leaves the ball right in front of the pocket for an easy shot.
