Welcome to the billiard, pool, and snooker glossary of terms. This is the definition of Putting Money In The Rack as it relates to cue sports. You can also view the entire billiard dictionary.
Putting money in the rack refers to the act of all players involved in a money game of physically putting their cash bets up on the table before the game begins. The purpose of putting money in the rack is two fold. First, it proves to the others that the players actually have the funds, and that they are not firing air barrels. Second, it prevents a losing player from running out before paying the winners.
I hate having to remind players that nobody starts to play until everyone has finished putting the money in the rack.
