Racking Definition

Racking is the act of placing the object balls in the rack, triangle, or diamond, and setting them up for the opening break shot. Racking is done by the referee in league play, but in more casual play, racking is performed by the players. There are several conventions for racking in casual play. The losing player of the previous game can rack so that the winning player can focus on the break shot, or each player can rotate.

You lost, so why aren't you racking the balls? Get over there and grab the triangle!
