In one pocket, a return is a player's attempt to respond successfully to their opponent's shot, such as to return the break. Players of equal skill level can return his or her opponent's shots, but it is not likely that a less skilled player could return his or her opponent's shot.
He got me with a snooker, but I think I see how I can return the favor.
