Definition of Shaft

Shaft is a billiards term that is a part of Pool Cue Terminology.

The shaft is the narrow tapered end of a cue stick to which the tip is attached. This is the portion of the cue stick that slides through the players hand bridge. The term shaft also applies to the entire body of a mechanical bridge.

Shaft - Usage

The shaft is sticking to your hand, so you need some hand chalk.
