Welcome to the billiard, pool, and snooker glossary of terms. This is the definition of Split Shot as it relates to cue sports. You can also view the entire billiard dictionary.
A split shot occurs when two balls, that are just over a ball's width apart, line up approximately towards your pocket with the cue ball in hand off to the side, lending the opportunity to shoot first into the further-most ball, then immediately caroming it into the ball nearer your pocket, sending that second ball to your pocket. The cue ball generally passes through the two balls in pin ball fashion.
Why don't you execute one of your famous split shot hits?
