To be stuck means to be trapped in a difficult situation based on the layout of the billiard balls on the table, and the available shots that could be made from that layout. Also in gambling slang, stuck refers to how much a player has lost at any given point.
Buddy is just plain stuck. I can't see any decent shot from where I stand.
