Welcome to the billiard, pool, and snooker glossary of terms. This is the definition of Timing as it relates to cue sports. You can also view the entire billiard dictionary.
Timing refers to the ease with which the shooting player generates cue power during the shot making proccess. The power is generated specifically due to the well-timed acceleration of the cue at a specific and appropriate point in the shot. If the shot was not exectued with such timing, it would not have the same degree of power.
How does Gary make those break shots that are so powerful? He barely flinches. It is all in the timing of the acceleration in the billiard shot.
