Welcome to the billiard, pool, and snooker glossary of terms. This is the definition of Two Shots Rule as it relates to cue sports. You can also view the entire billiard dictionary.
The two shots rule is a blackball penalty conceded by the fouling player post fault. The incoming player may then miss two separate times before the original faulting shooter may come back for another visit to the table. Issues arise with some variations of UK blackball rules in that they state that they in hand benefit from baulk, or from anywhere if the opponent potted the cue ball, of the second shot is removed if a ball is potted on the first shot, if a ball is potted on the first shot and it is the player's last remaining ball in a group of balls, and if there is but one shot on the black ball post fault. There are some sub rules that may apply, which can be studied by reviewing the two shot carry rule
I have the most difficult time understanding the two shots rule of UK blackball rules.
