Undercut refers to hitting the object ball without enough of a cut angle. It can also be said that the shooter is hitting the object ball too full or fat. It is a known truth that overcutting is preferable to undercutting. An undercut shot is also knows as a thick shot.
The shot was undercut, and thus, was never pocketed.
