Refers to a cut shot against a rail, when the object ball travels against the rail all of the way into the pocket. A very high quality table is required to walk the dog down a side pocket. This is often a good test of table quality, since poorly manufactured tables will cause the object ball to drift from the rail.
Take the 3 ball and walk the dog down the right side. You can't miss.
