This is a tip I haven't found here - having to do with english. When object balls are touching, english from the cue ball is transferred to the object ball, spinning the obect ball (very slightly) in the reverse direction, much the same way as rotation transfers from one gear to another. That rotation is transferred again to the second touching "object ball" again reversing the direction of the spin. This can be useful if a little bit of english could cause an object ball to kick into a pocket off a corner rather than kick out of it.
