Eight Ball Sitting in the Wrong Pocket

When shooting last pocket.. Sometimes I'm playing a guy that will keep shooting my balls in because the eight ball is sitting in a pocket, I always get caught up.. It ends up being my shot... and I must hit the eight ball causing me to lose if I can't get it out, How do I end up in this trap
