Cue Ball With A Small Black Dot

Cue Ball With A Small Black Dot

I have a cue ball with a small black dot on it.

Does anyone know what that small black circle on the cue ball is for?

The cue ball with a black circle or black dot that you described is most likely part of an English Billiards or Carom Billiards 3-ball set. This would be played on a carom table e.g. one with no pockets.

Carom billiards is played with two cue balls and one red ball. One cue ball for each player. The Black dot on the cue ball is an indicator so that players know which cue ball belongs to which player.

The cue ball with the black dot or black circle is often called the "black ball" and the all-white cue ball, the "white ball".

You can buy these carom billiard ball sets from amazon.

I have a ball with a single black dot. I know what it is and what it is used for.

My question is - what is the value, if any, of a single cue ball with a black dot, if without the other two balls?

@user1576280644 - Assuming is from any run-of-the-mill set - it's not worth anything significant.

You can get them new online for between $10 and $20. So the value of a used cue ball with a black dot - less than that.
