When it comes to pool cue balance, most commercially available pool cues are naturally weighted to provide the ultimate balance and control. The best made cues do not typically use any artificial weighting techniques and are typically made from solid hardwood throughout, creating a natural hit and feel that only solid wood can provide. You may see this changing as cue-making technology evolves.
In regards to pool cue weighting, cue weights are measured in ounces. For snooker and modified snooker the weight range is usually 16-19oz. For pool cues the weight range is 18-21 oz. Personal preference typically dictates weight choice for each individual player.
