When purchasing a home billiard table, you may want to consider only the tables which meet official BCA pool table specifications. (Which now follow the official WPA pool table specifications.)
These are the official pool table specifications that are used to ensure all professional tournament tables play and feel approximately the same from tournament to tournament. Unfortunately official pool table specifications are not alone enough to ensure that you are buying a quality billiard table. Generally, a cheap table is one that minimally meets standards if at all.
Before purchasing any table, be sure that you personally check it's specifications to see if they meet official pool table specifications. This even includes checking to see which fabric and cushions are used.
Finally, you can do your own research on the internet to find out if a prospective billiard table brand or model generally meets official pool table specifications. Some you may be able to rule out right away.
Checking for official BCA pool table specifications will ensure that you are getting the most for your money.

Um, where are the specifications???? I followed a link called "official specification", but all this page says is "do your own research on the internet"?
Thanks for the heads up, the link was broken. It's fixed now. It takes you to the WPA specifications, which are the same specifications that the BCA uses.
