Definition of Called Ball

Called Ball is a billiards term that is a part of Game Rule Terminology.

In many billiard games, rules require that the shooting player calls the ball that they intend to pocket. This ball is referred to as the called ball. Called ball refers to the exact object ball the player has designated to be pocketed on a shot. Called ball is required in all cue sport games that are played in no slop mode.
