Double shimmed refers to a type of construction found around the pockets of a pool table that affects the size of the opening of the pocket. The shims are placed on each side of the pocket under the cloth and in the jaw, and this done twice with a double shimmed table. The double shimmed pool tables are tougher to play than unshimmed or single shimmed tables.
