Welcome to the billiard, pool, and snooker glossary of terms. This is the definition of Foot String as it relates to cue sports. You can also view the entire billiard dictionary.
The foot string is an imaginary line that passes between the second diamonds on the long rails and through the foot spot, which is at the racking end of the billiard table. The foot string actually intersects the long string at the foot spot area of the pool table.
I wish the foot string was actually marked on the table. I guess I will have to start learning these things in my head.
