Definition of Gins It

Gins It is a billiards slang term that is a part of Billiard Technique Terminology.

A billiard tournament announcer or commentator might say "and he gins it" after a pool player successfully pockets a very difficult or unlikely (but not impossible) pool shot.

Gins It - Origin and History

The term "ginned it in" in billiards comes from the game of gin-rummy.

In the card game "gin-rummy", where one can win the game by "going gin". You call "gin" when you win in an unexpected manner. This occurs when you have a perfect hand.
