Welcome to the billiard, pool, and snooker glossary of terms. This is the definition of Pack as it relates to cue sports. You can also view the entire billiard dictionary.
Pack is a term that has several definitions in a cue sport context. In a snooker context, a pack is a group of reds resting below the pink line early on in the snooker frame. The pack excludes those reds which have already been sent into positions from which they are potable. In its simpler context, a pack refers to any cluster of balls on the bed of the pool table. In the third context, the term pack refers to a package, which is a group of consecutive games where the opponent never makes it to the table because the breaking player manages to break and run out for that many games.
We've got to break up that pack down there. The potable reds are becoming scarce.
Since the break was poorly done, we now have to break up that pack.
Jeff actually won that on a four pack on best of seven tournament. Roger never even made it to the table.
