The term sliding ball refers to a ball that has taken on the phenomenon called slide. Slide, and thus a sliding ball, is common on pool tables with brand new cloth.
I missed that shot because of the sliding ball phenomenon due to the new cloth. This would not have happened on a worked in table. Whatever Leo, if you were truly skilled you wouldn't execute a shot that caused a sliding ball.
