Sweating the action is a term that refers to a gambler with a lot of money at stake who is nervous about losing and is hanging off of every play. That gambler is probably sweating with fear of a loss, and so he or she is said to be sweating the action. Sweating the action could also refer to the general gambling of the crowd on the billiard action at a tournament or other venue.
If you are going to back any of these guys you are going to need to stay calm. I don't want to be hanging out with you watching the tournament if you are going to be sweating the action all night.
