Gandy, Lexington Pool Table Info?

I'm a very occasional pool player (only played at bars), but finally bought one for the home - planning to spend more time practicing in my spare time.

The paperwork just says that it's an 8-foot Lexington, and the logo on the table says Gandy. This was a discontinued floor model, as far as I know.

I found a mention of Lexington on American Heirloom's site, and the picture seems to match, but there is no other info available. Can anyone share some information about this table? Who makes it? Is it decent quality? The guys that installed it said they put a 1" slate in it (3-piece).

    You found more the I could about your table. My brother- in-law has a table made by the American Pool Table Company but not as nice as yours. It's circa 1970's. It's held up very well. Like new in fact.

    Beautiful table, and even more beautiful open space you have it in! Just watch out for moisture if that's a basement or garage.

    Thanks guys. It actually looks even better in person, under the right lighting. The cloth color we chose (called Euro Blue) is a very intense blue that had to be special ordered. It goes really well with the dark wood of the table. Pictures don't do it justice. I still find myself wandering down to the basement just to admire it a bit. :)

    Gandy tables are very well built. They went out of business in the 90's and American Heirloom took over producing there table models. American Heirloom ran into finacial problems and closed. Chris Speed who was a table maker for them formed his own company which is now American Custom Pool Tables. All the Gandy furniture lines are still available and like I said earlier these tables are built to last. I have worked on hundreds of Gandy's, (American Heirloom or American Custom) and would recommend them to anyone. AHpooltables.com

    One other question... below are the dimensions of the pocket openings. Seems kind of tight. Or is that considered normal for a typical 8ft table?
