Switch from English Billiards to American Billiards

Switch from English Billiards to American Billiards

My name is Sean and I have been playing pool for many years, but had a break for the last 10 years due to work, moving away and divorce and stuff.

I am just getting myself back into the pool as I have the perfect outlet for me to practice which is 30 yards down the road. I will be playing English pool and American pool, and snooker.

Snooker has never been my game but pool has. So bought myself a cue and went off to have a game or 2 by myself on the english tables, to find that i was still playing very well.

Also they have american pool tables which i would like to get into, They also have a couple of team which i would like to maybe get into, so any help with cue selection, and the right way to go about the american game would be helpful. I do not have a lot of money so everything will be done on a budget as far as the pool cue goes.

I do have 2 cues I purchased so far just to give myself a go at the american game.

  1. Cue Craft Tornado 13mm leather tip. which i find this seems to be comfortable in weight and feels right
  2. Ronnie O'Sullivan super grip 13 mm tip, which does not feel right, so have only took 2 shots and put it away. LOL. It will end up on eBay.

So good evening and I hope you don't mind lots of questions in trying to better myself and use your knowledge to help me.
