Info on Brand "Legend" Pool Cue

Does any one know about the pool cue brand "Legend"?

Is it a good cue to play with?

The logo is stylized as:

I saw on Amazon from 2011, a "Legend 700 series model L720" pool cue, which retailed for $349. On another forum a guy was saying they were made by Lucasi.

I can't find any info online about them.

"Legend" was a pool cue brand circa 2004 to 2010, roughly. The brand was created and owned by DMI Sports, Inc. of Fort Washington, PA. They were acquired by Escalade Sports in 2013.

Since 1976, DMI has brought their own unique style to the world of pool and darts. Featuring such well known brands as Minnesota Fats, Legend, Arachnid, and Nodor, DMI products continue to be a popular force in the gameroom industry.

In addition to pool cues, DMI also had other billiard and dart products labelled with the "Legend" brand, and pool tables labelled with "American Legend", a sister brand.

Companies like these make low-end, inexpensive billiard products for sale in big box stores, etc. They also made low-end novelty pool cues for brands like Playboy, Miller Lite, Coors, etc.

Legend pool cues were also available through billiard retailers like GameRoom USA, which was kind of a low-end big-box style retailer.

They retailed for between $60 for a basic sneaky Pete, to $220 for their most complex design.

I couldn't find any evidence to support (or refute) the Lucasi manufacturer claim. I am fairly doubtful of this given the DMI ownership of the brand, but it is possible.

Yours is the Legend L-320 pool cue model. Here is a catalog photo from a 2006 DMI Sports "BCS Specials" catalog. It had a MSRP of $160 but could be bought from retailers for around $140.

This cue is constructed of Rosewood spliced with Redwood. It features Mother of Pearl inlays and white veneer detail. It is 58 inches in length and features a Polished Stainless Steel Quick Lock Joint, Pressed Irish Linen Wrap, and a 13mm LePro Tip.

    • MSRP: $160
    • Retail Price: $144
