Please Help Me Identify This Cue

This cue was purchased new in 1997 or 1998 at my local pool hall while in college. If I'm remembering correctly the retail was somewhere between $150 and $250. I'm thinking it was $199. It does not have a weight system, the shaft has a straight taper, and it weights approximately 20 oz. The joint size is 5/16 X 14.

It has four oddly shaped black points with white ornamentation a red line and a dot on the shoulder, a white and black linen wrap, and a four matching blobs and dots on the butt. All the ornamentation are decals and not inlays. Everything in the images is original excepting the ferrule and tip of course.

The clerk in the late 1990s told me that it was a "Viking no label" cue. My best friend purchased a similar cue at the same time and he remembers them being sold as 'Viking no label" cues as well. Doing some google searching from that era, I think it might be one of the Viking "Shooter Line" no-label cues, but I haven't been able to find an image online. Their cue identifier doesn't load for that line for some reason.

I have new Meucci and Cuetec breaking cues for playing and I'm just curious if this is even worth re-wrapping, much less completely refurbishing which will require a new shaft, this one has been repaired twice. My guess is probably not.

    This cue is an inexpensive import cue.

    Viking didn't make "no-label" production cues in that era, and models from the Viking Shooter line should all have the Viking logo (despite what is depicted in the catalog).

    The design pattern is a knock-off of the Meucci 333-3 model from the Meucci 333 series circa 1993-1995.

    Thank you, that's kind of what I figured. I only had what the retail clerk told me almost 25 years ago.

    I guess I don't understand what this meant from their historic listings archive and kind of hoped the clerk hadn't lied to me.

    Yeah, unfortunately you and your friend probably overpaid for those cues, but given the era (late 1990s before the internet was mainstream) it was way easier to pull a fast one on customers. And honestly, a salesperson might have pulled a fast one on the local pool hall. That wouldn't have been unheard of.

    I stand corrected on my Viking no-label comment. I didn't notice that note on the Viking website until you pointed it out, but even that has a slight mistake! Actually, it is the SH-1 and SH-3 cues which have no logos. The SH-2 cue does have one. That image thumbnail you shared actually shows the entire line. I have the brochure in our archives, and it was only that single page, and a mostly-empty back-cover. The SH-1 is on the far right, and SH-3 is the 3rd one from the right, and neither of those match your model. Also the MSRP on the Viking Shooter cues was under $100 for all models, which doesn't match what you said you had paid.
