Gandy 9-Foot Pool Table Year and Model

Gandy 9-Foot Pool Table Year and Model

I'm looking for help to find the year and model name of this Gandy pool table.

I was able to get this great 9-foot, 3-piece slate Gandy pool table from a friend who was moving. I am trying to decide whether to sell or keep it. The pool table is in an awesome condition. It just needs new cloth. I didn't realize my space is a little small for this table when we said that we would take it.

If anyone can give some advice for pricing or a current value, I would greatly appreciate it.

The pics are from after we disassembled the Gandy pool table for moving. I can get more if it will help decipher the year and model.

I am new to the forum so I will apologize up front for my lack of billiards knowledge.

We need to see more detail to identify this Gandy pool table.

    Specifically, clear photos of:

    • Leg style
    • Apron style (sides - both long and short)

    Thanks for the help.

The rule book that came with the pool table is copyrighted 1968.

Here are some more pics as requested:

It appears to be a Gandy Big-G pool table.

The Big-G Gandy pool table was their top-of-the-line commercial-grade pool table. It would be comparable to a Brunswick Gold Crown pool table, from what I've heard.

Yours is the 9-foot Gandy Big-G pool table.

Used pool tables don't sell for much these days, but yours would likely get good interest because:

    1. It's a 9-foot model, which will be in demand by serious pool players, and
    2. It's a commercial-grade model from the top-end of the line

Now that you know what it is, you can watch eBay, and other local classified sites to get a better feel for what's out there and what prices they're selling for in your area.

Here are a couple from my records from late 2016 to early 2017, from Craigslist. Prices are probably similar today, but it's worth checking in your area. Region can make a big difference.

    • $1800 - 9-foot Gandy Big-G LTD, May 2017, in NW Indiana
    • $1750 - 9' Pool Table Gandy Big G - Dec 2016, in Nashville, TN
    • $1250 - 9' Gandy big G pool table, Nov 2016, in Pepperell, MA
    • $1500 - Pool Table - Gandy Big G - March 2017, in Ann Arbor, MI
    • $1250 - Pool Table, Gandy 4-1/2 x 9 ft. - Oct 2016, in Lewisville, NC
    • $ 600 - Pool Table: Gandy "Big G" 9-Foot; Table - Oct 2016, in Houston, TX
    • $1000 - Gandy BIG G 9FT Pool Table - Oct 2016, in Hickory, NC
    • $1500 - Gandy 9' Big G Pool Table with Accessories - November 2016, in Absecon, NJ

I have no notes on whether or not these have sold. Over half of these probably didn't sell for their asking price.

Here are a few Gandy Big-G brochures. The first is from a 1970s catalog, the second is more recent:

Thanks so much for your insight and sharing your knowledge.

I’m in the Hickory NC area.

If I list it for sale, I will let you know how much it sells for.
